At Project Angel, a disability won't make a loved one stand out, but rather, fit in.  We curate our homes where our residents enjoy a rich, full life with friends, and can participate in social events regardless of their life challenge.  Our all-inclusive rental homes are an excellent alternative to a group home setting.

With secured, 24-hour home security with remote monitoring/cimate control, keyless entry, home automation, and wearable optional tracking technology that provides instant access and notifications to your loved one in the event of an emergency with just a tap from a smartphone.  Project Angel provides our valued residents an ultra safe, all-inclusive living environment, and gives peace of mind to families and/or case managers.

Dominant themes among adults with disabilities are their desires for permanency, independence and self-determination.  We offer our resident's the greatest and most reliable degree of choice and freedom, including the ability to choose where, how and with whom they live, while being able to manage the services they need.

WHAT IS LIFE LIKE IN A PROJECT ANGEL HOME?

Our all-inclusive residences are designed to provide a rich and meaningful life to anyone who has educational and/or developmental disabilities and to encourage close relationships with their families.  By offering an all-inclusive unit, our residents have the opportunity to pursue a variety of interests, pursue employment and live a normal life.  We have also begun serving veterans in limited capacities as well.

CAN I BE INVOLVED IN MY LOVED ONE'S LIFE?

YES!  Our resident's are given a safe and comfortable home to live a normal life, with activities and having guests visit them.  We believe individuals have a right to pursue their own interests and to choose their own path.  PA encourages the development of new interests and skills which often leads to wonderful opportunities for growth.

DOES MY FAMILY MEMBER HAVE TO BE EMPLOYED WHILE STAYING IN YOUR HOME?

Not necessarily.  We do encourage those residents who are not currently employed to pursue career exploration as a pathway towards long-term employment with their case manager. We have found that residents who are not working tend to digress and are not as fulfilled living in our residences as those who have long-term employment.

IS YOUR ORGANIZATION FINANCIALLY STABLE?

PA is financially stable and will remain so over the long term.  We will continue to grow thanks to the support of many generous families and friends, ensuring the ongoing security, wellness and care of our dear residents.

WHAT IS THE APPLICATION PROCESS?

An initial needs assessment will need to be completed and submitted for our review.  A comprehensive evaluation process involving family, funding source and PA Administration will ensue.  A formal acceptance letter is issued when compatibility is determined, an appropriate room/bed is available and funding is secured.  We invite all private and state-funded referrals depending on availability.

ABOUT PROJECT ANGEL

In 2006, a group of parents discussed the dismal reality of a lack of functional rental housing for individuals with a physical disability.  Frustrated by the status quo and desperate to find an alternative, this group of committed parents worked tirelessly to create an enlightened new model of specialized living for adults who had physical disabilities or developmental disabilities.  They formed a corporation "Project Angel" in 2006, and in 2010 their dreams became a reality, when the first twelve residents stepped over the threshold into their new transitional residences in Atlanta.


Today, with a specialized team of highly skilled and dedicated human service professionals, Project Angel serves it residents through a variety of innovative housing arrangements.  We embrace the philosophy that individual choice and self-determination should direct all of our actions, and we are committed to empowering people to reach their full potential and pursue a life that is personally meaningful to them.  We are truly a community rich with opportunity, sharing and growth.
